Safaricom Ethiopia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of EHOD (Executive Head of Department) – Shared Services (Internal/External). This role will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the EHOD of HR Shared Services will oversee the efficient delivery of all HR services, records management, employee relations, international mobility and immigration, HR policies and procedures, and team leadership and engagement. The role holder will drive automations and digitalization of HR processes for operational excellence and contribute to the success of the wider HR function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize HR systems to improve service delivery and use data for informed business decisions.
• Develop and implement records management standards, policies, and procedures.
• Establish an HR Service Center to enhance employee experience.
• Collaborate with HR subject matter experts to improve overall strategic and operational performance.
• Lead HR process improvements through simplification, automation, and digitization.
• Manage employee and labor relations, grievance management, and disciplinary processes.
• Provide consultancy support on HR processes and plans to employees and managers.
• Full people management responsibility for a team of HR shared services professionals.
• Proactively build knowledge and competence to identify and deliver new services and processes.

Skill and Educational Background:

• Degree in Business Management or related field.
• 8-10 years of work experience in a large commercial organization, with at least 8 years in HR function directly supporting executive and/or line operations.
• Minimum of 4 years in resolution of complex employee relation issues.
• Competence in more than 2 HR technical domains.
• Experience in program/project management and working with corporate client groups.
