The Ethiopia Media Women Association (EMWA) is seeking qualified and competent applicants to apply for the position of Director.

Purpose of the Role:

The Executive Director is a senior management position responsible for facilitating coordination among EMWA members, the Executive Board, regional committees, and external stakeholders. The role involves strategic management of the organization, overseeing the secretariat, advocating for gender equality in the media industry, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic management and oversight of the EMWA Secretariat
• Advocacy and communication
• Fundraising and financial management
• Monitoring and evaluation of programs
• Partnership development and networking

Skill and Educational Background:

• Minimum five years of progressive national and/or international experience in NGOs, academic institutions, intergovernmental organizations, networks, or associations.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Management, Development Leadership, or related social sciences (Advanced degree preferred).
• Strong understanding of gender equality and diversity issues in the media industry.
• Experience in strategic planning, program development, and financial management.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Proficiency in developing proposals, budgets, and reports.
• Understanding of government systems, civil society organizations, and international development principles.
• Excellent communication, public speaking, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Fluency in written and spoken Amharic and English.
