Job Description:

A pediatric nurse provides health and medical care for infants, children, and adolescents. They communicate effectively with children to understand their health concerns, especially when children are scared or unable to clearly express their symptoms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Engage with children to gather information about their health and document their symptoms and medical history for the doctor’s assessment.
• Assess children’s needs and provide initial care.
• Identify changes in children’s symptoms and intervene in emergency situations.
• Participate in pain management for children.
• Administer medications, draw blood, and administer childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.

Skills and Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nurse Profession & Pediatric & Child Health Profession with a professional renewed license as a Jr. Nurse Profession/Jr. Pediatric & Child Health Nursing Profession approved by the Food, Medicine, and Health Care Administration and Control Authority of Ethiopia.
