About the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE):
Established in 1989, CHFE is a non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping children with heart disease. The organization, along with key donors, has established a new hospital equipped with essential equipment and supplies. The National Project, supported by various international chapters and organizations, aims to benefit thousands of children in Africa by building and equipping the first dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Center in the Horn of Africa. The center, located on the premises of the Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is expected to be completed by 2007 and will serve children throughout the region. Healing the Children will continue its relationship with CHFE by sending medical professionals to assist in the training and development of Ethiopian medical staff.
