Position: Cashier/Store Keeper

Action for Development (AFD), a local NGO dedicated to grassroots livelihoods and women’s empowerment, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Cashier/Store Keeper.

About AFD:

AFD originated from the FAO-operated Freedom From Hunger Campaign/Action for Development (FFHC/AD), focusing on integrated rural development in drought-prone areas of Southern Ethiopia. Established in 1997 as a national NGO, AFD builds on past achievements to enhance impact and improve livelihood opportunities.

Job Details:

• Position: Cashier/Store Keeper
• Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
• Closing Date: June 20, 2024

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process cash payments, issue checks, and handle field payments to clients and vendors with proper documentation and authorization.
• Perform financial and clerical tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
• Manage office-level storekeeping duties, including receiving, issuing, and documenting goods.
• Maintain proper records and documentation related to financial transactions and storekeeping activities.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree/Level IV COC/Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Experience: At least one year for Degree holders, and three years for Level IV COC/Diploma holders, preferably in an NGO setting.
• Skills and Attributes:
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Strong proficiency in standard software applications.
• Analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starting with the ability to work independently.
• Firm belief in teamwork, gender equity, and sensitivity to safeguarding and protection issues.
• Familiarity with the local context of the project area.
• Integrity and accountability.
