Position: Fundraising Intern

Experience: Fresh Graduate

Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Intern will assist the fundraising team with background donor research, funding knowledge management, and supporting overall fundraising processes. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector and learn fundraising fundamentals. You will work alongside our Fundraising team, supporting them in securing financial resources to further WaterAid’s commitment to ending the water, sanitation, and hygiene crises together – for everyone, everywhere.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research and Opportunity Identification: Conduct background research on potential donors and funding opportunities.
• Proposal Development Support: Assist in the development and writing of proposals.
• Donor Relations and Communication: Support communication with current and potential donors.
• Knowledge Management and Reporting: Assist in maintaining and updating fundraising records and databases.
• Learning and Development: Engage in training and development activities to enhance fundraising skills.

Key Competencies:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, or any other relevant discipline.
• Skills:
• Strong writing and budgeting skills.
• IT proficiency.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability and willingness to travel to remote areas.
• Ability to prioritize high volumes of work to meet tight deadlines.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent English language skills in written and verbal communication.
