About the Country Program in Ethiopia:

Action Against Hunger’s Ethiopia country office was established in 1985 in response to severe drought and subsequent famine, implementing relief and development projects in Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia regions. Currently, we operate in six regions of Ethiopia (Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Gambella, Somali, Oromia, and Tigray) and in Addis Ababa, responding to different crises and building resilience through a multi-sectoral strategy integrating nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support activities.

Position: Senior Roving Human Resources Officer

• Location: Addis Ababa
• Salary Scale: EMS – 07
• Length of Contract: One Year with Possibility of Extension
• Insurance: Life, Group Personal Accident, and Medical Insurances covered as per organization policies.
• Seniority Allowance: Paid based on years of service.

Summary of Position:

The Senior Roving Human Resources Officer will act as a generalist HR focal person responsible for overseeing the implementation of HR functions and staff administration within Action Against Hunger interventions. Responsibilities include providing advice, filling in gaps, conducting onboarding/induction for new hires, and managing the organization’s performance appraisal process.

Skill and Educational Background:

• Education: MA/BA Degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or Management.
• Experience: At least 5 years of related experience (roving role) with an INGO as an HR Generalist.
