The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021. Our mission is to foster a fair, efficient, and orderly capital market environment where securities issuance and trading thrive. We oversee licensing for security exchanges, derivative exchanges, clearing companies, and other regulated activities, ensuring compliance and market integrity. ECMA also supervises primary and secondary securities markets, electronic trading platforms, and self-regulatory organizations.

About the Program:

As a Graduate Trainee at ECMA, you will embark on a comprehensive one-year training program designed to cultivate your skills and knowledge in capital market regulation. The program integrates hands-on experience with classroom learning, emphasizing practical application with approximately 90% of training conducted on the job. A key highlight is the mentorship provided by experienced professionals in the capital market industry, offering invaluable insights and guidance for your career development.

Throughout the training, you will rotate through various departments, gaining a holistic understanding of ECMA’s operations, processes, and organizational culture. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be strategically placed within a department that aligns with your strengths and our operational needs, ensuring a seamless transition into your role as a Young Professional.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Recent graduate within the last 2 years, including this year’s graduating students.
• Minimum GPA of 3.6 or above.
• We encourage applications from candidates residing in remote areas outside of Addis Ababa, as diversity in backgrounds strengthens our organizational perspectives.
