Position: CCTV Camera Operator
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring & Operation:
- Operate and monitor all surveillance security systems and cameras within the Control Centre efficiently, in compliance with operating procedures, legislation, and best practices.
- Record all events, incidents, and actions taken in a clear, legible, and accurate written format.
- Ensure the proper storage and cataloging of CCTV footage for easy recall at a later time.
- Conduct daily surveillance reviews as they are being recorded.
- Security & Maintenance:
- Maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure the security of the control room and equipment is maintained at all times.
- Report equipment failures to the Plant IT Administrator or IT Manager.
- Communication:
- Provide efficient and courteous radio and telephone answering services.
- Handle all inquiries efficiently.
- Security Database Maintenance:
- Maintain security infrastructure, including the security database.
- Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors are correctly captured in the security database.
- Liaise with the head of security to ensure appropriate use of the CCTV system.
- Prepare evidential records and witness statements to a standard acceptable by the rules of evidence.
About You:
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Education: BA degree in System Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- CCTV certification and computer experience required.
