RTI International (EECA) is seeking qualified and competent applicants for the following position:
1. Finance Officer
- Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Job Summary:
- RTI International is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice. The Finance Officer will manage day-to-day accounting functions for USAID’s Act to End NTDs | East program in Ethiopia and other RTI projects as needed. This position involves frequent travel (up to 40%) to regions such as Oromia, Gambella, Benishangul Gumuz, and Tigray.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager with daily financial activities.
- Support in the preparation of cash management requests and forecasts.
- Manage staff cash advance accounts, reconciliations, and tax payments.
- Prepare and process payments, journal vouchers, and monthly financial reports.
- Handle petty cash management and conduct weekly counts.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation for all expenses.
- Pay per diems during workshops, training, and meetings, both in Addis Ababa and other locations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance/Commerce.
- Experience:
- 1 year of accounting experience for Master’s degree holders.
- 3 years of accounting experience for Bachelor’s degree holders.
- Preferred: Experience working on USAID projects.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and accounting systems like QuickBooks.
- Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
