TechnoServe Ethiopia invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following positions under the Climate Resilience Through Empowering Women (CREW) program:

1. Agronomy Advisor – CREW

• Location: Field-based – Aleta Wondo, Chuko, Dara Kabado
• Duration: Eight months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability
• Number of Positions: 6
• Grade: 6

Program Description:

The CREW program aims to economically empower women coffee farmers in Southern Ethiopia by increasing climate resilience and coffee production. It targets 76,000 women and men and 80 coffee processing businesses in Sidama and Oromia regions.

Position Responsibilities:
The Agronomy Advisor will support the implementation of strategies to improve coffee quality and yields. This role involves the execution of day-to-day activities, managing local stakeholder relations, and supervising farmer trainers to meet project targets.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or Plant Science (experience may substitute for degree)
• At least 3 years of experience in agronomy, coffee processing, or cooperative management
• Strong planning, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills
• Willingness to be based in rural project sites
• Valid motorcycle license is a must
• Fluency in English, Amharic, and Sidamigna is a plus

2. Senior Agronomy Advisor – CREW

• Location: Field-based – Aleta Wondo
• Duration: Eight months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability
• Grade: 8

Program Description:
The Senior Agronomy Advisor will refine and implement strategies to increase coffee quality and yields for smallholder farmers. This role will include training 50% of women beneficiaries in agronomy, leadership, and gender practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental or Natural Sciences, Business, or Economics
• BA with 5 years or MA with 3 years of experience in agronomy, coffee processing, or business management
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Fluency in English, Amharic, and Sidamigna is a plus

3. Intern – Agronomy Advisor

• Location: Bensa (Sidama) and Bule Hora/Guangua (West Guji)
• Number of Positions: 3

Program Description:
The intern will support the implementation of strategies that increase coffee production through agronomy training and environmental best practices. The role will involve farm visits and overseeing the application of techniques.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Crop Science, or Agriculture (experience may substitute for a degree)
• Fluency in Amharic, Sidama Afoo, and Afan Oromo
• Computer literacy (Word and Excel) and strong interpersonal skills
