About the Program

The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Hybrid Designs and its consortium partners (iCog – Anyone Can Code, R&D Group, Qua Qua Capitals, and D&T Ethiopia Management Consulting PLC), is launching a five-year program titled β€œEntrepreneurship in the Digital and Gig Economy (EDGE).”

This program aims to unlock 300,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth across Ethiopia through:

βœ… Digital outsourcing market expansion (onshore & offshore).
βœ… Empowering women & vulnerable groups.
βœ… Supporting over 1,041 MSEs to enhance operational efficiency.
βœ… Strengthening Ethiopia’s outsourcing ecosystem through strategic partnerships.

By the program’s end, EDGE aims to establish Ethiopia as a leading outsourcing destination, aligned with Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy and Ethiopia’s development roadmap.


Position: Human Resource and Admin Officer

Job Summary:

The HR and Admin Officer will provide human resources and administrative support to the EDGE program office, ensuring efficient program execution and staff management.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Duties:

βœ… Assist with day-to-day HR operations.
βœ… Manage staff records, contracts, performance evaluations, & leave tracking.
βœ… Coordinate staff benefits & compensation.
βœ… Address staff relations issues & grievances.
βœ… Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.
βœ… Process and prepare reports on staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and evaluations.
βœ… Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and donor regulations.
βœ… Conduct new employee orientation.
βœ… Oversee performance evaluation processes.

Administrative Duties:

βœ… Oversee daily administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
βœ… Coordinate meetings, trainings, and workshops.
βœ… Handle travel arrangements for regional staff (flights, accommodation, transportation).
βœ… Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations in the workplace.
βœ… Manage office facilities, supplies, logistics, security, and equipment.
βœ… Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.


Job Requirements:

Educational Qualification & Experience:

πŸŽ“ MA Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
πŸ“… Minimum 10 years of experience in an HR or Administrative role.
πŸ“œ Strong knowledge of labor laws & HR principles.
πŸ’Ό Experience in non-profit organizations and donor compliance is a plus.

Key Skills & Competencies:

βœ” Strong organizational & time management skills.
βœ” Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
βœ” Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
βœ” Ability to work independently & collaboratively.
βœ” Experience in travel coordination & logistics.
βœ” Knowledge of HR policies, training methodologies, & compliance procedures.
