About EDR

Ethio-Djibouti Railway Share Company (EDR) was established in April 2017 following a bilateral agreement between Ethiopia and Djibouti. EDR is a joint venture governed by Ethiopian commercial law, responsible for operating and maintaining the Ethio-Djibouti Standard Gauge Railway.

Position: Junior Train Captain

Required Qualification

Educational Background:
Degree or Level III, IV & V in the following fields:

• Railway Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electromechanical
• Automotive Engineering
• Railway Systems
• Industrial Engineering
• General Mechanics
• Automotive Technology
• Electromechanical Technology
• Machining Technology

Experience:

• No prior experience required
• Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply

Additional Requirements

• COC (Certificate of Competency) is mandatory for applicants with Level III, IV, and V qualifications
• Valid National ID (Fayda) is required
• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit for intensive training
• Willingness to undergo a 1-year semi-military training combining theoretical and practical components
• Training location will be announced later
