Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) – Vacancy Announcement

The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is an independent organization committed to the protection and promotion of human rights in Ethiopia. EHRC invites qualified and competent candidates to apply for the following positions:


1. HR Officer – Talent Acquisition

Purpose:
To support workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and onboarding in line with EHRC policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic talent acquisition planning
  • Develop workforce planning tools
  • Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Communicate recruitment status updates
  • Assist hiring managers with assessment tools and documentation
  • Conduct background checks
  • Organize staff induction, training, and performance management follow-up
  • Analyze recruitment metrics and recommend improvements

Requirements:

  • Education: BA Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or related fields
  • Experience: 6 years in HR, with proven recruitment and onboarding experience
  • Other Skills:
    • Experience with HRIS is a plus
    • Computer literacy
    • Proficiency in Amharic and English; other local languages are advantageous

Salary & Benefits:

  • Gross monthly salary: ETB 20,400 – 23,683
  • Housing allowance: ETB 8,640
  • Transport allowance: ETB 3,300

2. Executive Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Commissioner’s schedule, meetings, and travel
  • Handle communications and correspondence
  • Draft and edit letters, memos, and presentations
  • Support agenda preparation and minute taking
  • Organize and maintain files and office functions
  • Greet and assist visitors and manage phone calls
  • Handle travel logistics and purchase requisitions

Requirements:

  • Education: BA Degree in Management, Public Administration, or related fields
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in executive-level secretarial or office management roles
  • Other Skills:
    • Computer literate
    • Fluent in Amharic and English; other local languages advantageous

Salary & Benefits:

  • Gross monthly salary: ETB 17,750 – 20,567
  • Housing allowance: ETB 8,640
  • Transport allowance: ETB 3,300

Location: EHRC Head Office, Addis Ababa
Duration: Open Contract / Indefinite Period
