Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) Vacancy Announcement

ECX is pleased to invite qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the following positions:


1. Position: Senior Specialist, Legal Service and Enforcement

Job Grade: 09
Duty Station: Addis Ababa (Head Office)
Availability: As soon as possible

Job Purpose:

To support the divisional legal operations by providing legal advice on administrative, contractual, labor, and operational matters; represent ECX before judicial bodies; review legal documents and policies; ensure compliance with rules and regulations; and contribute to the overall legal strategy and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and revise ECX rules, contracts, and legal policies
  • Provide legal consultation and interpretation to internal departments
  • Represent ECX in legal proceedings and prepare supporting evidence
  • Review internal agreements and ensure compliance
  • Prepare investigation and periodic reports
  • Facilitate awareness programs on ECX rules and legal matters

Qualifications:

  • Education: LLM or LLB degree
  • Experience: 4 years (LLM) or 6 years (LLB) of relevant experience in judiciary, prosecution, or legal advisory roles
  • Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail

2. Position: Associate – General Accounts

Job Grade: 06
Duty Station: Addis Ababa (Head Office)
Availability: As soon as possible

Job Purpose:

To verify daily financial transactions, assist in accurate posting and reconciliation, maintain financial records, and support the preparation of financial reports in compliance with ECX’s accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check payment and collection documents for accuracy
  • Post journal vouchers and reconcile accounts
  • Prepare monthly tax schedules and bank reconciliations
  • Assist in asset register maintenance and closing annual accounts
  • Support internal/external audit activities and prepare financial statements
  • Monitor financial documentation and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Education: BA in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • Experience: 2 years in accounting or financial analysis
  • Certifications: Proficiency in Accounting Software and MS Office
  • Skills: Strong accounting and analytical skills
