Position: Technical Support Engineer

Ethio Fruit PLC is an agro-processing company specializing in the production of avocado oil. The company is currently enhancing its technical capabilities and seeking qualified professionals to join its dynamic team.

🔹 Position Summary – Technical Support Engineer

The Technical Support Engineer will play a key role in diagnosing equipment issues, interpreting technical documents, improving SOPs, and acting as a liaison with international equipment vendors. The engineer will support operations to reduce downtime and enhance plant performance.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

⚙️ Equipment & Technical Support

Troubleshoot issues in decanters, malaxers, centrifuges, and other auxiliary equipment
Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and control panel instructions
Configure inverters, adjust PLC settings, and calibrate sensors
Assist in preventive maintenance planning and execution

📄 Documentation & Communication

Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Log technical incidents, resolutions, and equipment status
Communicate with international vendors for remote diagnostics and spare parts
Translate technical instructions into simplified guides for local staff

📊 Improvement & Monitoring

Identify and address recurring technical issues
Assist in implementing monitoring tools (e.g., alarms, inverter logs, sensors)
Train operators on best practices and safety protocols

🔹 Qualifications

Education: BSc or Diploma in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electromechanical Technology
- Industrial Automation
- Or related fields
Experience: 3–6 years in an industrial or agro-processing setting
Skills:
- Proficient in reading technical manuals and diagrams (in English)
- Experience with inverters (e.g., ABB, Delta)
- Familiarity with PLC systems (basic understanding required)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene in processing plants
