📝 Job Summary

Joytech PLC is seeking a qualified Environment and Workers Occupational Safety Officer to ensure all operations align with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. The ideal candidate will manage EHS risks, enforce safety policies, and foster a culture of compliance.

📌 Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and regularly update health, safety, and environmental risk assessments and plans.
• Design strategies to reduce environmental and health risks in the workplace.
• Enforce and communicate EHS policies, rules, and best practices.
• Ensure employees and subcontractors understand and fulfill EHS responsibilities.
• Oversee the provision and correct usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Conduct workplace inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Monitor local, state, and federal EHS regulations and ensure compliance.
• Lead investigations into EHS incidents and implement corrective measures.
• Develop and track EHS KPIs and improvement plans.
• Conduct EHS training for employees and subcontractors.
• Prepare reports and updates for the Compliance Manager.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

• Education: BSc in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or other related fields.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role, preferably in the horticulture/floriculture sector.
• Gender: Female (as per company requirements)

🧠 Required Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of risk management and EHS regulations
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
• Ability to motivate and educate employees at all levels

🌐 Language Requirements

• English: Excellent (spoken & written)
• Afan Oromo: Excellent (spoken & written)
• Amharic: Excellent (spoken & written)
