Hybrid Designs PLC/RIDE, a company at the forefront of mobility technology in Ethiopia and Africa, is looking for a highly energetic, professional, and talented Market Development Officer. This role is crucial for leading awareness campaigns, creating marketing materials, and contributing to the market development strategies for Hybrid Designs’ programs.

This is a contract position for one year with a possible extension up to five years, based in Addis Ababa with occasional travel to regions.

Short Description of the Position:

The Market Development Officer will lead awareness campaigns, create marketing materials, and contribute to market development strategies for Hybrid Designs’ programs. Key responsibilities include conducting market assessments, developing and testing products, identifying opportunities, strengthening partnerships, building entrepreneurial capacity, promoting products, and facilitating access to finance for businesses.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement awareness creation campaigns for Hybrid Design programs.
Assist in creating marketing materials and collateral as assigned.
Contribute to the development of the Hybrid Design’s market development strategy for products and services.
Lead market assessment and development activities, including creating and enhancing markets, and improving product/service accessibility.
Spearhead the development, testing, and prototyping of Hybrid Design products.
Identify barriers and opportunities within the Hybrid Design program and provide recommendations.
Strengthen public-private partnerships to drive sustainable markets.
Lead entrepreneur capacity building through training, coaching, and business planning.
Drive demand activation and promotion to increase uptake of improved Hybrid Design products and services.
Facilitate access to finance for Hybrid Design businesses with tailored solutions.

Required Academic Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in market development and business development.
Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, and traditional marketing.
Strong skills in outreach and partnership development to expand market presence.
Understanding of market research methods, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis.
Strong organizational and project management abilities to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Capability to plan, execute, and evaluate marketing projects.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting.
Ability to create compelling presentations and marketing materials.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
Required Skills: Graphic design, Business Development, Market research.
Desired Skills: Integration of visual communication in social media platforms, Technological & digital literacy.
