PanAfrica Geoinformation Services is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill several positions for upcoming projects and their head office. The company offers competitive remuneration and benefits.

Available Positions:

1. Project Manager

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Head Office with regular field visits)
Project Duration: 4 months
Number of Positions: Two (2)
Job Overview: Leads and coordinates the implementation of a short-term electrical distribution system project, overseeing planning, team supervision, operations, reporting, quality control, and direct communication with EEU.
Key Responsibilities: Develop project plan, manage daily operations and staff, supervise data collection and quality assurance, ensure adherence to timelines, oversee quality control and reporting, and serve as the primary contact with EEU.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in project management of similar assignments. Proven leadership, coordination, and reporting skills.
Required Skills: Project management, attention to detail, problem-solving.

2. Field Engineers / Enumerators

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Field-based with coordination at Head Office/Addis Ababa)
Project Duration: 4 months
Number of Positions: Multiple (more than 40)
Job Overview: Supports on-site data collection for an electrical distribution system project, involving identification and documentation of Low Voltage (LV) assets and customer meters, capturing GPS coordinates, completing attribute tables, and maintaining data integrity.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct field surveys, identify and record LV assets and meters, capture precise GPS coordinates and attribute data, ensure data completeness and accuracy, coordinate with the GIS expert for quality assurance, and report progress to the Project Manager.
Qualifications and Experience: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and related fields. Minimum of 1 year experience in distribution network field surveys OR proven exposure to electrical distribution systems. Familiarity with electrical distribution infrastructure, GPS equipment, and data collection tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

3. Digital Marketing Officer

Location: Addis Ababa, PanAfrica Geoinformation Services PLC Head Office
Salary: As per company scale, negotiable based on experience and skills.
Job Description: Develops and implements digital marketing strategies, manages online presence, creates engaging content, monitors campaign performance, coordinates with departments for promotions, executes email campaigns, supports brand visibility, and reports on KPIs.
Qualifications: BA/BSc degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Certification in Digital Marketing is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digital marketing role, preferably in Geographic Information System (GIS) sectors.
Skills: Strong command of digital tools and platforms, creative content development skills, strong analytical and reporting skills, and knowledge of current digital marketing trends. Both male and female applicants are encouraged to apply.

4. Senior GIS Expert

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Head Office with project-based support)
Project Duration: 3 months
Number of Positions: One (1)
Job Overview: Supports the development and implementation of geospatial solutions using open-source technologies, requiring strong command of GIS tools and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) for spatial data management, automation, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities: Manage, analyze, and process spatial datasets (QGIS, GDAL), design and maintain geospatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS), automate spatial workflows (Python, JavaScript), support enterprise GIS deployments, develop dynamic maps and web applications, ensure spatial data accuracy, collaborate with teams, and prepare spatial reports.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with open-source GIS tools (QGIS, GDAL). Proficiency in Python for geospatial scripting, working experience with JavaScript for GIS automation or web mapping, solid understanding of spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS). Familiarity with GeoServer is a plus. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
