SAMANU is seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Acid Oil & ETP Operator to join their team. This position is open to fresh graduates with a background in Chemistry, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial operations and environmental management.

Position: Acid Oil & ETP Operator

About the Job:

The Acid Oil & ETP Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the acid oil plant and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP). This includes maximizing acid oil recovery, managing the complete dilution system, handling sulfuric acid safely, maintaining detailed logs, and overseeing the loading and unloading of byproducts and chemicals. The role also involves operating and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment, conducting routine chemical analyses, monitoring plant indicators, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate acid oil plant and ETP.
• Operate complete dilution system.
• Maximize acid oil recovery.
• Prioritize safety measures and knowledge of hazards associated with sulfuric acid.
• Update the log book.
• Loading of byproduct in the tankers.
• Unloading of sulfuric acid tanker.
• Proper handling of Acid.
• Ensure to maintain acidic water discharge to ETP.
• Run the plant at rated capacity without any quality and safety deviations.
• Lead the shift operations of acid oil plant and ETP by utilizing available resources (manpower, material, and processes).
• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and handling equipment.
• Tend pumps, sludge filters, and other equipment used to treat wastewater.
• Collect samples and make routine chemical analyses of wastewater.
• Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials from wastewater.
• Run tests to ensure processes are working correctly.
• Keep records of wastewater quality.
• Operate and maintain pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems.
• Monitor plant indicators and make adjustments as necessary.
• Read meters and gauges to ensure equipment is working properly.
• Take samples and run tests to determine the quality of the water being produced.
• Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as sulfuric acid, lime.

Qualifications:

• Education: BSc in Chemistry or a related field.
• Experience: 0 years (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
