Position: Legal Officer

📌 Job Objective

To ensure the protection of the Bank from any future legal vulnerabilities by providing legal advice to credit process performers, reviewing and confirming legally required documents, and representing the Bank in legal matters.

🎓 Education

• LLM/LLB Degree in Law

---

💼 Experience

• Minimum of 4/6 years relevant legal experience
• Out of which at least 3 years in the banking sector

---

🔹 Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare loan, pledge/mortgage, and other related contracts
• Ensure legality of all Bank borrowers and loan processes
• Review contracts for completeness and sign off
• Verify registration of mortgage contracts and collateral insurance policies
• Ensure security documents are properly kept with authorized staff
• Facilitate proper filing of loan documents and files
• Monitor period of limitation of mortgage contracts and act timely
• Represent the Bank before courts, tribunals, and other legal organs
• Identify legal defects/loopholes and recommend corrective actions
• Train and coach process team members on legal issues
• Collaborate with credit performers
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports
• Perform other related duties as assigned
