1. Executive Head of ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) and Sustainability

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Type: Full-time (Internal / External)

Role Purpose:
The Executive Head of ESG and Sustainability will lead the company’s ESG vision, embedding sustainability principles into business strategy and ensuring alignment with shareholder interests. The role collaborates closely with the Board’s ESG & Impact Committee and key stakeholders to drive measurable impact, ensure compliance, and safeguard responsible business practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop ESG vision, strategies, and objectives.
Ensure compliance with ESG regulations and reporting standards.
Oversee and manage ESG programs and initiatives.
Engage with stakeholders, community leaders, NGOs, regulators, and government bodies.
Lead impact measurement and reporting for stakeholders and shareholders.
Foster partnerships to maximize environmental and social outcomes.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related field (advanced certifications preferred).
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, or related roles.
Strong expertise in ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI, TCFD, IFC, BII).
Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

2. Specialist: Cyber Security Architect

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Type: Full-time (External)

Role Purpose:
The Cyber Security Architect will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust enterprise security architecture, ensuring the protection of IT systems, networks, and digital assets. This role requires expertise in telecom security technologies (4G/5G, IMS, IoT), cloud security, and compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and design enterprise security architecture frameworks.
Provide consultancy for business and technology projects.
Ensure compliance with security regulations and industry standards.
Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies for network and endpoint protection.
Lead security incident responses and post-event analysis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ work experience (with 2 years in information security).
Proven experience in IT networks, systems administration, and cybersecurity solutions.
Relevant certifications preferred (CISSP, CCNP-Security, CCIE Security, NSE4/NSE6, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

3. Executive Head of Department – Digital and Lifestyle

Role Purpose:
The Executive Head of Digital & Lifestyle will be responsible for enhancing Safaricom’s digital landscape, driving customer loyalty programs, and maximizing engagement across the Safaricom and M-PESA ecosystem. This role involves building innovative loyalty frameworks, strategic partnerships, and ensuring seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute digital loyalty strategies.
Build strategic partnerships to strengthen loyalty propositions.
Collaborate with marketing teams for promotional campaigns.
Optimize placement and UX of loyalty features across apps and platforms.
Conduct performance analysis and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Digital Transformation, or related field (Master’s preferred).
8–10 years of experience in digital marketing, customer loyalty, or CRM.
Proven track record in managing large-scale loyalty programs.
Strong data analytics, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
