Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a qualified, highly motivated, and competent professional for the position outlined below.

Position Details

Logistics Coordinator – Fleet, Inventory & Asset

  • Location / Duty Station: Country Office (Addis Ababa), Ethiopia
  • Role Type: Fixed-term contract (based on performance, with possibility of extension)
  • Reporting To: Supply Chain and Administration Manager
  • Eligibility: This position is open only to Ethiopian Nationals who are legally eligible to live and work in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities & Role Summary

The Logistics Coordinator – Fleet, Inventory & Asset is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, transportation, asset management, and warehouse functions to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain support:

  • Fleet & Transportation Management:
    • Oversee vehicle allocation, fleet maintenance, transportation services, customs clearance, and fleet safety compliance.
    • Ensure optimal utilization of organizational fleet resources.
  • Asset & Warehouse Management:
    • Lead asset lifecycle management, stock monitoring, distribution processes, and inventory control.
    • Oversee warehouse operations, record keeping, accurate documentation, and timely reporting.
    • Adhere strictly to safety, security, and inventory management standards.
  • Safeguarding & GEI Integration:
    • Put into practice responsibilities under Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality & Inclusion (GEI) policies.
    • Ensure department staff are fully inducted on Plan International’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding principles.

Candidate Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Logistics & Supply Chain management.
    • At least 3 years in a senior-level/supervisory capacity in fleet management, asset tracking, customs clearance, and warehouse operations (experience need not be strictly in NGO/INGO settings).
  • Technical & Software Competencies:
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications, SAP, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), and asset/inventory software tools.
    • Strong technical expertise in fleet, asset, and inventory handling.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities across short- and long-term plans.
    • Proven leadership, team-building, and customer-service orientation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Technical certification in automotive mechanics.
  • Experience in international supply chain systems and customs regulations.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian sector trends, capacity building, and operational constraints.
