Position: Banking Business Officer I

Key Purpose & Accountabilities

• Execute day-to-day branch banking operational processes and interest-free financial service delivery.
• Promote and mobilize deposit accounts and Shari’ah-compliant financing products in the local catchment area.
• Engage directly with new and prospective customers, driving financial inclusion and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure strict adherence to National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) regulatory frameworks, internal operational policies, and strict Shari’ah compliance guidelines.
• Deliver prompt, efficient, and professional customer service to diverse individual and corporate clients.

Qualifications & Work Experience Requirements

• Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Economics, Management, Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields from a recognized higher learning institution.
• Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive commercial or interest-free branch banking experience.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience serving specifically as a Junior Officer or equivalent operational role within a bank branch setting.

Required Core Competencies & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound practical understanding of Interest-Free Banking (IFB) operational mechanics and Shari’ah-compliant financial instruments.
• High level of integrity, professional accountability, and alignment with ethical/halal business practices.
