1. Agricultural Value Chain Program Manager

Location: Gode, Somali

Salary: $1407

Job Summary:

The Agricultural Value Chain Program Manager will provide expertise and guidance to onion-producing farmers in creating vibrant groups working toward profit-making through strengthening onion marketing and value chain activities. Responsibilities include assisting farmers in creating market linkages, developing value chain documents, training materials, and guidelines related to agricultural marketing. The manager will also develop value chain grant guidelines, document best practices, and support project replication.

Requirements:

MA/BSc Degree in General Agriculture, Agricultural Value Chain, Agricultural Economics, Plant Science, Development Studies, or related field.
8 years (MA) or 10 years (BA) of professional work experience in agriculture value chain, market linkage, marketing, and horticulture development.
Fluency in English and Somali languages (written and spoken).
Knowledge of more than one local language is a plus.

2. Agronomist

Location: Adadle Woreda, Somali

Salary: $1407

Job Summary:

The Agronomist is responsible for providing technical oversight to irrigation, agriculture, and land use-related activities. The role aligns with government policies and Action Against Hunger’s strategies for strengthening food security, livelihoods, and resilience through agricultural rural value chain activities.

Requirements:

MA/BSc Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, General Agriculture, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, or related fields.
8 years (MA) or 10 years (BA) of relevant work experience.
Fluency in English and Somali languages (written and spoken).
Knowledge of more than one local language is a plus.

3. Irrigation Engineer

Location: Gode, Somali

Salary: $1407

Job Summary:

The Irrigation Engineer provides technical oversight to irrigation, agriculture, and land use-related activities. Responsibilities align with government policies and Action Against Hunger’s strategies for strengthening food security and livelihoods. The role involves promoting and strengthening agricultural rural value chain activities.

Requirements:

BSc Degree in Irrigation Engineering/Hydraulics/Water Resource/Civil Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
Skills in engineering software (AUTOCAD, EPANET-2/WATERCAD, etc.).
Knowledge of national and international agricultural irrigation standards.
Fluency in English and Somali languages (written and spoken).
Knowledge of more than one local language is a plus.
