Position: Drone Operator

Location: Omorate, Branch Office, SNNPR

Experience: Fresh Graduate

Salary: As per the company scale.

Job Description – Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform drone spraying of fertilizers on crops by established procedures and guidelines.
2. Strong knowledge of drone technology.
3. Understanding local drone laws.
4. Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeeping of drones on a daily basis.
5. Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety checks to prevent accidents and minimize risks.
6. Keep drone batteries charged at all times to ensure uninterrupted operation.
7. Follow instructions from the supervisor and/or Manager regarding flight plans and operational protocols.
8. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while operating drones and spraying fertilizer.
9. Safely transport drones within a range of 25 to 50 kilometers daily.
10. Gather necessary information and data as required for agricultural operations.

Job Requirements For FRI-EL Ethiopia Farming:

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, and related fields (Aviation, Physical Science, Computer Science, or Engineering)

Experience: Minimum of 0 up to 1-year experience

Required Competencies:

• Must be willing to be certified as a drone pilot by the company.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English.
• Preferably have experience in agricultural drone spraying services.
• Familiarity with agricultural operations, crop protection, and mapping.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols and checklists.
• Ability to ride a bike and transport drone equipment safely.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of weather patterns and forecasts.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing work environments and hard weather conditions.
