Position: Human Resource Officer

• Contract Type: Temporary Appointment
• Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Purpose of the Job:

The Human Resource Officer will report to the Chief of HR for guidance and supervision. The role includes providing HR services by applying theoretical HR models and understanding organizational HR policies and procedures. The officer will work closely with colleagues and the supervisor to execute HR services efficiently.

Skill and Educational Background:

• Education:
  A University Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology, or another related field.
• Experience:
  A minimum of two years of professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of human resources management principles.
• Ability to identify issues, conduct research, and make recommendations.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in information technology systems and tools.
• Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
• Effective communication in diverse environments, with the ability to tailor language, tone, and style to the audience.
• Empathy in interactions with managers, supervisors, and staff, while ensuring equitable application of HR regulations.
• Language Requirements:
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Desirables:

• Experience:
  Work experience in a developing country or familiarity with emergency situations.
