Position: Senior Tax Specialist

Purpose of the Job

The Senior Tax Specialist is responsible for managing the Bank’s overall tax operations, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing expert advice on tax-related matters to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Generic Functions

Act as the division manager in their absence.
Participate in developing, reviewing, and implementing policies, procedures, and plans for the division.
Mentor junior staff to enhance their performance.
Uphold the Bank’s code of conduct and project a positive corporate image.
Address deficiencies and issues raised by regulatory bodies promptly.
Foster teamwork, collaboration, and transparency in work practices.

Specific Functions

Prepare and review tax and pension payments to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Periodically reconcile Bank tax accounts for accuracy and compliance.
Maintain proper documentation of all tax-related supporting documents.
Research and interpret federal and state tax laws to provide timely advice.
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential tax risks.
Develop tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency.
Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or other related fields.

Experience

5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the banking sector.
2 years as a Tax Officer.
