Hybrid Designs PLC Job Vacancy Announcement

Hybrid Designs PLC is an Ethiopian software development company founded in December 2014 by entrepreneur and computer scientist Samrawit Fikru. The company is renowned for developing RIDE, a ridesharing service aimed at enhancing transportation safety and convenience in Ethiopia. Initially launched as an SMS-based service, RIDE transitioned to a mobile app in 2017, authorizing thousands of taxi drivers across the country.

Hybrid Designs PLC is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

1. Senior Accountant

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards in posting and classifying transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and financial data.

2. Program Finance Assistant

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or related fields.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management and disbursement activities within an NGO setting.
Strong knowledge of project funding and donor compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Support financial reporting for the Mastercard Foundation program.
Manage accounts payable, receivable, and financial transactions.
Conduct financial verification of consortium partners.
Assist in budget tracking, cash forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
Participate in audits and procurement process meetings.

3. Market Development Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in market and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and execute awareness campaigns for Hybrid Designs’ programs.
Develop marketing materials and promotional content.
Conduct market assessments and create new market opportunities.
Strengthen public-private partnerships and foster sustainable market growth.
Provide training and support for entrepreneurs in business planning.
