Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, overseeing internal audits, and ensuring all financial activities adhere to the company’s policies and legal requirements. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records and promoting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Maintain general ledger and accounting documents
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure accuracy in bank reconciliations and income records
• Verify payroll and tax deductions are made and submitted on time
• Prepare and check all financial transactions and documentation before approval

Internal Control & Audit

• Conduct internal audits and assess internal controls
• Identify financial risks and suggest improvements
• Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and financial procedures

Operations Support

• Assess and reconcile petty cash, payment vouchers, and account records
• Assist with external audits and reporting requirements
• Work closely with the Finance Manager for ad hoc duties and special projects

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Education: BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance roles

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and audit procedures
• Experience with Peachtree or similar accounting software
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and integrity
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
