Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to fill the position of Head of Supply Chain and Administration. This role is crucial in ensuring agile, efficient, and value-for-money operational support for our impactful program delivery.


Head of Supply Chain and Administration

The Opportunity:

The Head of Supply Chain and Administration will be responsible for strategically leading Plan International Ethiopia’s Supply Chain and Administration function. This involves shaping forward-looking systems, enabling responsive logistics and procurement, fostering innovation, adaptability & strong cross-functional collaboration, and championing a culture of cost-effectiveness, compliance, and service excellence. As a key member of the country management team, the role ensures the department anticipates needs, mitigates risks, and continuously enhances its contribution to the organization’s mission.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI):

The position holder will understand and implement responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct, ensuring concerns are reported and managed appropriately. They will ensure all staff in their unit are properly inducted on safeguarding and GEI policies, and that these global policies are fully embedded in daily work. The role also ensures Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts for safeguarding and GEI by submitting relevant reporting and data.

About You:

  • Education: A Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related fields.
  • Experience: Significant practical experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, of which 5 years must be in a supervisory position with senior management responsibility. (Note: experience can substitute for a degree, but not vice versa).
  • The post holder must be able to work in a values-driven organization, be both a strategic thinker and team player, and be ambitious for what PIE can deliver for girls and young women within Ethiopia.
  • Proven experience and ability to negotiate, coordinate, and collaborate with different organizations, including the government.
  • Proven analytical and administrative skills, including financial literacy and analysis.
  • Experience in international supply chains with INGO and custom regulations would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian sector trends and constraints would be an advantage.
