Position: Training Intern

Organizational Overview

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by Proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referenda, and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to strengthen its institutional capacity with a strong focus on human resource development.

Accordingly, NEBE invites qualified applicants for the Internship Program under the Training Department.

Job Summary

The Training Intern will support the NEBE Training Department in preparing for the upcoming General Election. The role involves training coordination, communication, and logistical support across all regions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Training Center Identification & Arrangement
- Work with regional offices to identify potential training centers.
- Ensure centers meet NEBE standards (capacity, facilities, accessibility, and safety).
- Maintain a centralized database of training centers.
Trainers’ Recruitment & Management
- Assist in recruitment announcements via letters, email, and social media.
- Review applications, shortlist candidates, and organize exams/interviews.
- Support written exam and interview processes.
Training Activities Support
- Provide logistical support (scheduling, transport, venue arrangement).
- Ensure proper setup of regional training venues.
Monitoring Materials Distribution
- Track timely distribution and retrieval of training materials.
- Ensure training centers have the required resources.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as a communication link between regional offices and HQ.
- Collect reports and updates on training activities.
Training Facilitation & Attendance Management
- Support training sessions across regions.
- Collect and organize attendance records for trainers and participants.
- Assist in preparing and processing payments for trainers and service providers.

About You

Education: Degree in Education, Communication, Social Sciences, or related fields.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and communication platforms (email, social media).
Languages:
- Proficiency in one or more regional languages is required: Amharic, Afan Oromo, Afari, Afan Somali, or Tigrigna.
