1. Position: Senior Government Affairs Officer (Internal/External)

Job Summary

The Senior Government Affairs Officer will engage and liaise with regional government offices to build strong partnerships, ensure smooth collaboration, and represent the bank’s interests in regional government-related matters. The officer ensures alignment between the bank’s operations and government policies while facilitating timely communication and coordination with relevant government bodies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with regional government offices and officials.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular meetings, consultations, and visits with government offices.
  • Act as the primary contact between the bank and regional government offices.
  • Facilitate the bank’s compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Support the bank’s resource mobilization initiatives by engaging government offices.
  • Monitor and track government-related issues, approvals, and requests.
  • Coordinate internal teams to ensure effective responses to government inquiries.
  • Document and report all government interactions and commitments.
  • Represent the bank in official meetings, forums, and events.
  • Prepare policy advocacy documents, proposals, and reports as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in engagement and liaison with regional government offices.
  • Language:
    • Fluent in English (spoken & written).
    • Knowledge of Amharic, Afan Oromo, and Somali is an advantage.

Technical / Role-Specific Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of government structures, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, products, and financing processes.
  • Effective liaison, advocacy, and compliance management skills.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Behavioral / Soft Competencies

  • Strong relationship management and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Problem-solving and proactive follow-up abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strategic thinking and attention to detail.

2. Position: Corporate Customer Relation Management Manager (Internal)

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or other Business-related fields.
  • Experience:
    • 4 years of banking operation experience with a Master’s degree.
    • 6 years of banking operation experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Out of these, at least 2 years in a Senior Officer role in branch banking.

Required Skill

  • Strong account management ability.
