Position: Legal Officer

Education:

• LLB/LLM Degree in Law

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years for LLB or 4 years for LLM relevant legal experience, of which 3 years must be in the banking sector.

Job Objective:
To safeguard the Bank from legal risks by providing sound legal advice to credit process performers and by reviewing, preparing, and confirming legally required documents.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare loan, pledge/mortgage, and related contracts.
• Ensure legality of borrowers’ documentation.
• Review contracts for completeness and sign off.
• Verify proper registration of mortgage and collateral insurance contracts.
• Ensure safekeeping of security documents with authorized staff.
• Facilitate proper filing of loan documents and files.
• Monitor limitation periods of mortgage contracts for timely action.
• Represent the Bank before courts, tribunals, and other legal organs.
• Identify legal loopholes, recommend, and implement corrective measures.
• Train and coach process team members on legal issues.
• Work collaboratively with credit performers.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
