The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia, established in 1935, invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following vacant positions.

ERCS provides humanitarian services including emergency response, disaster risk reduction, ambulance and first aid services, family reunification, water and sanitation, food security, climate change adaptation, and livelihood support through its nationwide structures.


📌 Position 1: Food & Beverage Controller

Work Unit: Centre of Capacity Development for Humanitarian Services
Reports To: Catering & Lodging Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for controlling food and beverage purchasing, storage, issuance, costing, inventory, billing accuracy, internal controls, hygiene standards, and reporting within catering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control purchase, delivery, storage, and issuance of food & beverage items
  • Ensure compliance with menu plans and service agreements
  • Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Monitor stock levels using FIFO principles
  • Control billing accuracy (cash & credit)
  • Analyze costs and propose profit optimization measures
  • Conduct inventory audits and daily stock reporting
  • Ensure internal control compliance and identify loopholes

Qualification & Experience

  • First or Second Degree in Food & Beverage Control or Hotel Management
  • 4–6 years relevant work experience

📌 Position 2: Grants, Budgeting and Compliance Manager

Reports To: Director, Finance Department
Employment Type: Permanent (after probation)

Job Summary

Plans, coordinates, and controls grants management, budgeting, donor compliance, reporting, and financial alignment of ERCS programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage grant budgeting, reporting, and donor compliance
  • Serve as financial focal person for donors and partners
  • Monitor fund availability and expenditure authorization
  • Ensure compliance with donor and ERCS financial regulations
  • Support program teams on budget utilization and revisions
  • Assist in financial planning and closeout of grants

Qualification & Experience

  • First or Second Degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance
  • 8–10 years relevant experience, with 4–6 years in managerial roles

Required Skills

  • Accounting & Auditing skills
  • Strong compliance and reporting experience

📌 Position 3: ICT Support & Training Rooms Facilities Officer

Work Unit: Centre of Capacity Development for Humanitarian Services
Reports To: Training & Consultancy Services Manager

Job Summary

Provides ICT, network, audiovisual, and training-room technical support, ensuring optimal operation of devices, systems, and conference facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot ICT & AV equipment
  • Support networks, printers, internet, UPS, sound systems
  • Maintain conference halls and training room facilities
  • Provide end-user technical support and training
  • Maintain ICT inventory and documentation
  • Assist with procurement specifications and asset recording

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma or First Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields
  • 2–4 years experience in ICT support or similar roles

Required Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Network and audiovisual system support skills

📌 Position 4: Senior Internal Auditor

Work Unit: Risk Management & Internal Audit Department
Reports To: Risk Management & Internal Audit Director

Job Summary

Plans and conducts financial and operational audits, evaluates internal controls, prepares audit reports, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial, operational, and performance audits
  • Review internal control systems and recommend improvements
  • Perform surprise cash counts and special investigations
  • Audit grants, donations, procurement, and asset management
  • Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions

Qualification & Experience

  • First or Second Degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance
  • IFRS or CIA certification is an added advantage
  • 6–8 years auditing experience, including 3–4 years at senior level
