Positive Action for Development (PAD) is an Ethiopian residents’ Civil Society Organization holding active registration status at the Federal level (Registry No. 2330). Operating in accordance with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019, the organization is dedicated to fighting poverty, hunger, and promoting community development.
PAD is executing a targeted talent acquisition drive to reinforce its humanitarian project implementation teams within the Waghimira (Wag Hamra) Zone of the Amhara Regional State. Qualified, experienced, and highly competent individuals are invited to review the open positions outlined below.

Open Positions
1. Protection Officer
- Number Required: 4 (Four) — One for each designated Woreda
- Place of Work / Duty Station: Wag Hamra Zone (Dihana, Tsagbiji, Abergele, and Gazgibla Woredas)
- Employment Type: Contractual, project-based
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Law, International Development, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in child protection programming, preferably in a humanitarian context (experience with case management, training, and community mobilization is essential).
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Amharic.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of child protection activities, capacity building, case management, and community awareness within the assigned woreda.
- Organize and facilitate trainings on Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Child Protection Case Management for stakeholders, teachers, and guidance counselors.
- Strengthen school-based structures, including Child Protection Desks and Parent-Teacher and Student Associations (PTSAs).
- Collaborate with local Women and Social Affairs Offices for Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) and alternative care for Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC).
2. Project Cashier Accountant
- Number Required: 1 (One)
- Place of Work / Duty Station: Wag Hamra Zone (with regular field travel required)
- Employment Type: Contractual, project-based
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience as a Cashier, Accountant, or Finance Assistant, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian environment.
- Key Skills: Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, petty cash management, and proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks, Odoo, etc.).
- Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary custodian of petty cash, processing disbursements for approved operational expenses against valid supporting documents.
- Review payment requests for financial accuracy, mathematical correctness, and budget alignment.
- Prepare bank deposit slips, handle daily cash counts, and manage monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain a systematic, sequentially numbered, and secure filing system for all vouchers and financial records, stamping paid files as “PAID”.
3. Social Worker
- Number Required: 8 (Eight) — Two for each designated Woreda
- Place of Work / Duty Station: Wag Hamra Zone (Dihana, Tsagbiji, Abergele, and Gazgibla Woredas)
- Employment Type: Contractual, project-based
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Community Development, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in child protection, social work, or community-based case management tracks.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Amharic.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, high-quality, and confidential child protection case management services, including initial assessments and case plans.
- Facilitate coordinated referrals to specialized medical, legal, GBV, and mental health services.
- Support Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) and conduct regular home-based follow-up visits to monitor vulnerable families.
- Support child-led school clubs and PTSAs in conducting community campaigns and back-to-school drives.
4. Health and Nutrition Officer
- Number Required: 4 (Four) — One for each designated Woreda at specific IDP sites
- Place of Work / Duty Station: Wag Hamra Zone (Gazgibla, Tsagbji, Dehana, and Aberegele Woredas)
- Employment Type: Contractual, project-based
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in humanitarian health and nutrition programming (primary healthcare, maternal/child health, CMAM, and acute malnutrition management).
- Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate integrated outreach campaigns, strengthen local healthcare systems, and manage ambulance fuel/maintenance logistics for timely referrals.
- Deploy area rapid response teams and facilitate refresher trainings on PHEM, IDSR, IMNCI, BEmONC, and CMR/GBV protocols.
- Oversee nutrition programs including Family MUAC screening training for Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and therapeutic commodity (RUTF) supply chains.
- Maintain precise client and program records in compliance with emergency data protection protocols.
