To reinforce its Finance Department and cultivate the next generation of industry talent through structured workplace learning, UIB is executing a targeted talent acquisition drive for its operations in Addis Ababa. Open Positions
1. Graduate Paid Intern (5 Positions Available)
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Employment Type / Duration: Internship (3 Months – extendable based on performance and business needs)
- Compensation: Monthly Paid Stipend
- Eligible Fields of Study: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Accounting and Finance, Marketing Management, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have graduated in June 2026 only.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal abilities, ethics, integrity, and a positive professional attitude.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily departmental operations and collaborate across various teams.
- Assist in structural documentation, reporting, and basic administrative tasks.
- Conduct assigned market research and operational data collection.
- Actively participate in the company’s professional coaching and mentorship programs.
2. Junior Accountant (Life Claims Department – 2 Positions Available)
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Employment Type: Full-Time (Subject to a formal probation period)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related business field.
- Experience Requirement: Strictly 1–2 years of proven accounting experience (Mandatory). Note: Applicants with less than 1 year or more than 2 years of experience will not be considered.
- Technical Skills & Competencies: * Proven experience utilizing accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or equivalent ERP systems (Must be able to properly record, post, and close accounts in Peachtree).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, data entry, record-keeping, and financial procedures.
- Familiarity with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record life insurance claim payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare payment vouchers, journal entries, and related accounting documents.
- Verify claim payment requests and ensure all supporting documentation is complete.
- Reconcile life claims accounts, bank statements, and general ledger balances.
- Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Coordinate closely with the Life Claims Department and support internal/external audit processes.
