Position: Frontend Development/Software Development Specialist

Location: Addis Ababa
Terms of Employment: Contract

Job Summary

The Frontend Development/Software Development Specialist will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and systems. The role requires expertise in software engineering principles, modern programming languages, and collaborative teamwork to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions to meet business requirements.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Collaborate with system architects to create scalable and reliable software architectures.
Participate in peer code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests.
Implement CI/CD pipelines, optimize software performance, and suggest improvements for system scalability.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and user guides.
Mentor junior developers and stay updated on emerging technologies.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Experience:

Education: MSc or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields.
Experience:
- MSc: Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s: Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Graduation Year: Since 2020.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in JavaScript, React, Next.js, Laravel, and scalable API development.
Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud deployment, and server configuration (Nginx).
Strong problem-solving skills, code quality focus, and adaptability to new technologies.

Soft Skills:

Creative, innovative, and agile mindset.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Effective team player with the ability to mentor junior staff.
