📌 Position Overview: Junior Human Resource Officer
Location: Bishoftu, Ethiopia
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager & Head of Salary and Benefits Administration
Employment Type: Full-time
🎯 Purpose of the Position
To support the business units by implementing human resource best practices that enhance operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with labor laws. The Junior HR Officer plays a critical role in employee administration, onboarding, payroll, compliance, and training coordination.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Manage the payroll process effectively and ensure accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and audit requirements.
- Administer compensation and benefit programs, including bonuses, health insurance, and social security.
- Provide transactional HR support such as leave administration, salary slips, and health insurance assistance.
- Coordinate onboarding and administrative support for new employees.
- Facilitate training logistics and maintain employee records.
- Support employee relations processes and policy implementation (e.g., CBA).
- Offer guidance on HR policies and ensure service quality.
- Strengthen cross-functional relationships within the organization.
- Maintain communication with internal stakeholders including business leadership and employees.
✅ Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in the horticulture/floriculture sector.
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of Ethiopian labor laws and proclamations.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
