Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy of the business and ensuring efficient management of assets and resources. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial health, enforcing governance, and supporting value creation initiatives. The role reports directly to the Finance Director.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Finance Leadership
- Advise the Finance Director on strategic investments and commercial decisions.
- Drive financial capability and team performance.
- Guide strategic planning and ensure alignment with key priorities.
General Accounting & Finance
- Maintain sound accounting and bookkeeping practices.
- Lead a competent finance team to provide accurate and timely financial information.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and credit policies.
- Oversee working capital and balance sheet management.
Governance & Control
- Promote corporate governance and risk management practices.
- Foster employee engagement and succession planning within the finance team.
- Strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders.
Planning & Reporting
- Analyze financial and macro-economic data to support budget planning.
- Coordinate balance sheet budgeting and reporting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.
Decision Support
- Conduct finance literacy programs for other departments.
- Share best practices with the Finance Director and participate in group initiatives.
Educational Background
- Required: BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Preferred: MBA in Finance
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management
- At least 5 years in a senior financial management role
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment is highly desirable
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills
- In-depth knowledge of accounting systems and tax compliance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
