
Position Title: Junior IT Officer

The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) was established under the Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 as an autonomous federal regulatory body. Its primary mandate is to ensure the development and regulation of a fair, efficient, and orderly capital market in Ethiopia. ECMA licenses and supervises securities exchanges, depositories, capital market service providers, and other regulated market actors.
Position Summary
The Junior IT Officer is responsible for providing critical technical support in the management of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes assisting with troubleshooting, system support, documentation, and user support under the supervision of senior IT staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues (e.g., computers, printers, network).
- Conduct routine maintenance and support installation/configuration of IT devices.
- Maintain hardware inventory and coordinate with vendors for repairs/support.
- Offer first-level support for software applications and end-users.
- Log and track incidents through the IT helpdesk ticketing system.
- Assist in preparing documentation and training materials.
- Support IT infrastructure setup, including servers and networking hardware.
- Handle user account setup, monitoring systems, and backup procedures.
- Support software requirement gathering, testing, and debugging.
- Contribute to IT documentation and service improvement initiatives.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience.
