Position Title: WATSAN Manager

Number of Positions: 1
Place of Work: Tigray Northwest Project – Shire
Terms of Employment: Until December 31, 2025


Main Purpose of the Job:

To plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor all logistics activities related to Water, Health, and Sanitation (WATSAN) within the project, ensuring compliance with MSF protocols and contributing to high-quality service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage WATSAN interventions: water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, hygiene, and infection control.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments and analyze WATSAN-related data.
  • Collaborate with medical and logistical teams for integrated emergency response planning.
  • Manage WATSAN stocks, technical procurement, and supervise maintenance.
  • Facilitate community engagement, training, and WASH committee formation in IDP and host communities.
  • Supervise and coach WATSAN team staff, and conduct evaluations and capacity-building sessions.
  • Participate in cluster meetings, share information with WASH actors, and advocate for MSF’s mission in the region.

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Essential: Academic background in Engineering or a relevant field
    • Desirable: MSF WATSAN in Emergencies Training
  • Experience:
    • Essential: At least 6 months of field experience in emergency WASH in humanitarian settings
    • Previous experience with water supply, sanitation, waste management, vector control in different contexts is desirable
    • Desirable: Background in Public Health
  • Languages:
    • English (essential), local languages (desirable)
  • Skills & Competencies:
