Driver III Mechanic / Senior Auto Mechanic


📌 About the Job

The Driver III Mechanic / Senior Auto Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all ODA vehicles, ensuring their quality and timely service. The role includes supervising spare parts management, providing training to junior mechanics and drivers, and reporting any recurrent vehicle issues.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair ODA vehicles, ensuring quality and timely service.
  • Inspect vehicle engines, mechanical, electrical, computer, and electronic systems.
  • Prepare specifications and request spare parts and maintenance materials.
  • Organize and keep spare parts inventory clean and safe.
  • Schedule and perform regular vehicle maintenance.
  • Recommend vehicles for external maintenance when necessary.
  • Report vehicles requiring frequent expensive repairs.
  • Provide training and advice on vehicle use and maintenance to junior mechanics and drivers.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance, spare parts, and expenses.
  • Support ODA’s efforts in preventing and responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) allegations, adhering to ODA’s Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

👤 About You

Education & Experience:

  • BSc, Advanced Diploma (AD), College Diploma (CD/10+3), or Technical Diploma (TD) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields with Certificate of Competency (COC).
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in Governmental or Non-Governmental Organizations.
  • Holder of 3rd Grade driving license / Public 1 license.
  • Fluent in Afan Oromo, Amharic, and basic English.

Other Requirements:

  • No criminal record or history of child abuse, violence, neglect, or humiliating punishment.
  • No use or desire for drugs such as alcohol, chat, etc.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
