PAD is a dynamic, fast-growing Ethiopian civil society organization delivering impactful and sustainable programs in urban destitution, child protection, health, livelihoods, youth development, peacebuilding, humanitarian response, and migration reintegration across multiple regions of Ethiopia.

We are currently implementing a community nutrition project in partnership with IRC and funded by the German Postcode Lottery. To support this project, PAD invites qualified professionals to apply for the following positions:


🔹 Position 1: Nutrition Officer

📍 Location: Oromia Region, West Hararghe Zone, Mieso Woreda
📄 Employment Type: Contract
📅 Number of Positions: 1
💰 Salary: As per the organization’s salary scale

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of community-based nutrition activities (CMAM, MIYCN, GMP, etc.).
  • Supervise Community Development Facilitators (CDFs) and Nutrition Volunteers.
  • Conduct regular growth monitoring for children under five (MUAC, weight).
  • Support screening and referral for malnutrition cases.
  • Coordinate family dialogue sessions, IYCF counseling, and community nutrition days.
  • Monitor availability of anthropometric tools and materials.
  • Compile monthly data and narrative reports from CDFs.
  • Collaborate with health offices and mobile health teams for effective case management.
  • Support training and capacity building of local health actors.

📚 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, or Health Officer (with valid license).

🧠 Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in community-based nutrition programs.
  • Hands-on implementation of CMAM, MIYCN, GMP, etc.
  • Experience in rural or emergency settings is a strong asset.

🛠️ Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of national nutrition protocols.
  • Skilled in community mobilization and supervision.
  • Strong nutrition data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with anthropometric tools and nutrition screening processes.

🗣️ Communication:

  • Fluency in local language and working knowledge of English required.

✅ Other:

  • Willingness to travel to remote kebeles.
  • Strong teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and computer literacy.
  • Motorbike riding skills a plus (with license preferred).

🔹 Position 2: Project Coordinator (Community Nutrition Project)

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall management and coordination of the community nutrition project in 33 kebeles.
  • Supervise Nutrition Officers, Health Officers, and CDFs.
  • Ensure implementation quality in CMAM, MIYCN, GMP, and referrals.
  • Oversee planning, reporting, monitoring, procurement, and resource utilization.
  • Strengthen coordination with local government and stakeholders.
  • Represent PAD in woreda-level nutrition cluster coordination forums.
  • Track performance indicators and ensure compliance with donor and national guidelines.

📚 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or Nursing (Master’s in Nutrition is a plus).

🧠 Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in project coordination/management in nutrition or health.
  • Experience managing woreda-level interventions and working with local governments.
  • NGO experience preferred.

🛠️ Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of CMAM, MIYCN, GMP, emergency nutrition.
  • Proficient in planning, budgeting, performance tracking, and reporting.
  • Skilled in M&E, quality assurance, community engagement, and team supervision.

🗣️ Communication:

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of Afaan Oromo is highly desirable.

✅ Other:

  • Leadership, analytical thinking, multitasking.
  • Willingness to travel to remote kebeles.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Motorbike riding skill a plus (with license preferred).
