
Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI), an international Italian NGO working in emergency, relief, and early recovery programs, is looking for qualified and competent Community Mobilizers for Shewa Robit and Debre Birhan, Amhara Region.
Duration of the contract: Six months with possibility of extension upon valid performance and fund availability.
Salary and Benefit: Gross salary 32,178 ETB, Hardship Allowance 30%.
Duty starting date: As soon as possible.
Position: Community Mobilizer
- Number required: Three (Two Female and One Male)
- Duty Station: North Showa zone (Showarobit, Tarmaber and Debrebrhan) COOPI project implementation Area, Amhara Region.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning: Support agreement preparation with regions; provide support for M&E plan drafting; prepare ToR for activities (background, methodology, objectives, results, activities, BoQ, Monitoring and post monitoring table linked to result framework including cash, distribution of feed); prepare detailed physical and financial monthly plan; support weekly activity planning and movement plan; contribute to weekly meetings; compile and submit weekly reports.
- Implementation: Report managerial and technical issues; actively facilitate and ensure implementation of activities; provide technical support; complete technical sheet; work with local counterparts for beneficiary identification/selection; guarantee community engagement, mobilization, registration and verification of beneficiaries; assist communities/woreda line departments on gender mainstreaming; create awareness of local authorities on WASH and livelihood activities; responsible for preparation and distribution of NFI and input for livelihood activities; implement baseline, midterm, post-monitoring, end-line surveys and data collection; facilitate CFM; fill beneficiary description format; provide translation service; anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and problem-solve; make proper use of COOPI properties; stay on project site for beneficiary engagement.
- Reporting: Actively participate in weekly meetings; inform sector head/PM daily; give weekly report; draft/inform on activities accomplishment and implementation data; participate in grant closing meetings; compile, update and share files including Sanitation and hygiene and livelihood activities/Sectors; participate on project impact research/assessment, monitoring and evaluation, and document/share lessons learned.
- External Coordination: Attend coordination meetings at Kebele and Woredas level; support internal/donors’ visits; support approval of agreements/MoU; actively participate in relevant technical working group, consortium and cluster coordination meetings; regularly collect information at stakeholder level; propose activities and project ideas; perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
- Qualification and Experience:
- BA or Diploma in Health, Social sciences, agriculture, Agriculture extension, or related fields.
- A minimum of two years of relevant working experience with NGOs in a similar position.
- Fluency in Amharic.
- Good knowledge of English.
- Proven capacity to work in a team is essential.
- Ability to transmit information to beneficiaries.
- Ability to collaborate with woreda and kebele.
- Diplomacy skill is required.
- Experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities, IOs and NGOs.
- Demonstrated ability to work in stressful environments and under pressure.
- Computer literate, with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
