
The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA), established as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority, is offering an internship program for young, fresh graduates. This program provides hands-on research experience in capital market issues, including market developments, trends, supervision, and regulatory advancements. Interns will gain practical skills, receive mentorship, and contribute to efforts that enhance policy-making, build market capacity, and strengthen oversight.
Internship Overview:
- Focus Areas: Market developments, market trends, supervision, and regulatory developments within the capital market.
- Benefits: Certificate of completion, mentorship from experienced researchers, exposure to capital market dynamics and professional connections, and a small transportation allowance for fieldwork.
- Support Provided: Interns will assist in providing administrative and technical support for activities in departments such as Regulatory Policy Development, Market Development & Capacity Building, Market Supervision, Licensing & Registration, and Investigation and Enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data collection through surveys, observations, or interviews.
- Research and document review on capital market issues.
- Data recording using predefined tools.
- Organize and submit collected data in a timely manner.
- Report regularly to the research supervisor and attend briefings.
Who Can Apply:
- Education: Recent BA graduate in Economics, Accounting, and Finance fields.
- Academic Standing: CGPA of 3.25 and above.
- Location: Must reside in Addis Ababa during the internship period.
- Commitment: Able to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong interest in capital markets, financial systems, and investment behavior.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
- Proficiency with e-mail and internet applications.
- Ability to write and speak effectively.
