
Position Title: Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Officer
Duty Station: Amhara Region & Contested Areas, Ethiopia

๐ฉบ Job Summary
To ensure quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care services for vulnerable refugees, internally displaced populations, returnees, and host communities in the Amhara region and contested areas of Ethiopia.
The SRH Officer will oversee daily operations and quality implementation of MTIโs SRH programming โ including strengthening Maternity Waiting Homes, One Stop Centers (OSC), and the overall SRH service provision system. The role also involves providing technical support and close follow-up of midwives and other clinical staff.
๐ Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure MTIโs standards of quality in all health service delivery are met.
- Plan, implement, and supervise SRH activities including antenatal care, postnatal care, safe deliveries, STI treatments, GBV services (including clinical management of rape), family planning, and related services.
- Develop and implement process and quality improvement plans and report findings to the Health Specialist and Program Manager.
- Ensure project implementation aligns with approved work plans and budget utilization guidelines.
- Maintain quality control across service levels โ OSCs, Maternity Waiting Homes, and health facilities.
- Collaborate closely with Protection, MHPSS, and Nutrition Officers to ensure integrated programming.
- Liaise with hospital managers, government stakeholders, and partners to ensure a continuum of SRH services and referral linkages.
- Ensure compliance with MTI and government health standards, and accurate data collection/reporting.
- Facilitate training sessions to strengthen SRH personnel knowledge and skills.
- Lead the development of training materials, M&E tools, and quality improvement mechanisms in coordination with MEAL Officers.
- Support effective partnerships with stakeholders, including community leaders and beneficiaries.
- Participate in SRH/SGBV coordination forums and working groups as required.
- Work with Medical Inventory Officers and Program Managers to ensure timely supply of pharmaceuticals and materials.
- Promote safeguarding, respect, and dignity in all MTI services, ensuring adherence to protection and conduct policies.

- Uphold high-quality SRH programming standards across all facilities.
- Ensure clinical guidelines and rational drug use are followed.
- Promote compassionate, respectful, and confidential patient care.
- Support infection prevention and control practices within all facilities.
๐ Physical Conditions
This position requires frequent travel to health facilities in remote areas with basic living conditions.
๐ฉโโ๏ธ Education, Licenses & Certifications
- Required: BSc in Midwifery.
- Preferred: Masterโs in Public Health, Clinical Midwifery, or Midwifery Education.
- Alternatively, Medical Doctors, Nurses, or Health Officers with MPH in Reproductive Health from an accredited university are eligible.
๐ง Experience
- Minimum 3 years in direct health service delivery.
- Minimum 2 years in managing health service operations and supervising staff.
- Experience in One Stop Centers (OSC), Maternity Waiting Homes, or protection programs preferred.
- At least 2 years of NGO experience required.
