VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in five of the Regional States of the country.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze business requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement software applications based on user needs.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
  • Maintain and improve existing software.
  • Collaborate with designers, analysts, and other developers in the software development lifecycle.
  • Test and debug applications to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them appropriately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, IT, Software Engineering, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience, of which 3 years in system development or IT operations.
  • Proven experience as a programmer or software developer.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
  • Experience with databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Experience with web development frameworks (React, Angular, Django, ASP.NET).
  • Knowledge of mobile app development (Android, iOS).

Other Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Summary

The Resource Mobilization and Customer Service Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance to regional and branch offices in resource mobilization. The role also involves supporting operations, preparing reports, and proposing work improvement methods.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operation plans and budgets.
  • Ensure saving mobilization guidelines are implemented at area and branch offices.
  • Initiate improvements in the institution’s products.
  • Support Business Development and Partnership Department in new product development.
  • Visit branch offices to collect feedback from employees and customers.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff.
  • Ensure adequate saving and remittance services are delivered.
  • Conduct studies on competitiveness of saving products and report findings.
  • Prepare periodic reports on saving mobilization performance.
  • Evaluate and report branch performances regarding saving operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education:

  • BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.

Technical and Other Skills:

  • Leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and belief in gender equality.
  • Ability to provide technical and managerial support.
  • Good understanding of participatory and sustainable development approaches.
  • Basic computer skills; excellent written and oral communication.
