πŸ–₯️ Position 1: Senior IT Officer

πŸ“ Job Summary

The Senior IT Officer oversees and manages the Society’s IT systems, ensures system security and performance, supports staff training, manages databases and website updates, and safeguards against computer fraud. The role also includes system administration and data management responsibilities.


πŸ”§ Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Networking, System Operations & Security

  • User account administration (create, reset, lock/unlock, monitor)
  • Monitor server security and network performance
  • Maintain systems and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues
  • Install and update operating systems and application software

2️⃣ IT Policy & Governance

  • Develop backup and recovery policies
  • Implement system and network security policies
  • Ensure safety of computers and digital assets
  • Facilitate IT Committee meetings
  • Oversee IT system improvements

3️⃣ Software & System Development

  • Advise management on suitable IT products
  • Identify opportunities where IT improves efficiency

4️⃣ Training & Support

  • Train staff on application programs
  • Provide troubleshooting support
  • Develop user manuals and FAQs
  • Supervise IT-related activities

5️⃣ Website & Database Management

  • Manage and update the Society’s database
  • Maintain and update website content
  • Encode and manage statistical/research data
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Maintain logbooks and documentation

6️⃣ Additional Duties

  • Manage utility payments
  • Support purchasing and liaison activities
  • Perform other assigned duties

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or MIS
  • Minimum experience:
    • 5 years (BA/BSc)
    • 1 year (MA/MSc)
  • Experience in financial sector is an advantage
