
The Ethiopian Diabetes Association (EDA), established on January 23, 1984 G.C (1976 E.C), is the first patient-based association in Ethiopia, dedicated to supporting diabetes patients through awareness, prevention, and access to treatment.
EDA invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following positions.
1. Human Resource Manager
- Reports to: General Manager
- Employment Type: One-year contract (possible extension)
- Place of Work: EDA Head Office, Addis Ababa
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in HR management; NGO experience advantageous
- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership & strategy alignment with organizational objectives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical skills using HR metrics for decision-making
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Bamboo HR)
- Personal Attributes: Integrity, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, detail-oriented, self-motivated, team player
- Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic
2. Procurement Officer
- Reports to: General Manager / Finance Manager
- Employment Type: One-year contract (possible extension)
- Place of Work: Addis Ababa
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in procurement or supply chain management; humanitarian sector experience advantageous
- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of supply chain principles
- Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, ethical, able to work independently or in a team
- Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic
3. Store Accountant
- Reports to: Finance Manager / General Manager
- Employment Type: One-year contract (possible extension)
- Place of Work: EDA Head Office, Addis Ababa
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Fixed asset and inventory management
- Procurement and financial recordkeeping
- Reporting, budgeting, and audit facilitation
- Proficiency in Peachtree and MS Office; IPSAS training is an advantage
- Personal Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask, integrity, team spirit
- Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic
4. Office Support / Secretary
- Reports to: General Manager
- Employment Type: One-year contract (possible extension)
- Place of Work: EDA Head Office, Addis Ababa
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 2 years; NGO experience advantageous
- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Administrative support, correspondence, scheduling, and documentation
- MS Office proficiency
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under pressure
- Personal Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confidentiality, organized, flexible, team player
- Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic
5. Junior Accountant
- Reports to: Finance Manager
- Employment Type: One-year contract (possible extension)
- Place of Work: EDA Head Office, Addis Ababa
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance
- Experience: 2–4 years in accounting
- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Bookkeeping, bank transactions, payroll, financial reporting
- Proficiency in Peachtree and MS Office; IPSAS training is an advantage
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under pressure
- Personal Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented, integrity, self-motivated, flexible, team player
- Languages: Fluent in English and Amharic
